Halloween Journey 2005
The experience of Halloween in the Waldorf tradition is dramatically
different from the commercial version of Halloween of witches and goblins.
In the Waldorf tradition, Halloween is an adventure, a time of
excitement, of purpose, and of achievement!
Mother Earth introduces us to the Spring, Summer and Winter
Children, and sends our children on a magical voyage in search
of her lost daughter, the Autumn Child.
A busy, busy squirrel gathers nuts in the forest
and a lonesome pumpkin longs to be a Jack-O-Lantern.
A Knight-Errant is healed by Forest Fairies
while Lapis the Gnome dreams of his Little Gnome Family.
Drummers keep the eternal flame within burning,
as a beautiful Flower Fairy accepts presents from the children.
The Queen and King knight each child and introduce them to
The Autumn Child !
